The Risk Monitor

Market risk gauges at a glance.

1

What it is

The Risk Monitor is an institutional-style, 4-pillar market risk engine — Volatility & Options, Macro Rates & Credit, Market Trend and Systemic Stress — rolled up into a single 0-100 composite score with a DEFCON-style badge (from DEFCON 5 · CALM down to DEFCON 1 · CRISIS). It also produces a Strategic Options Playbook tailored to the current risk regime.

Open it

Use the left rail to open the Risk Monitor, which loads at /account/risk. An active subscription is required — otherwise you see a "View plans" prompt instead of the dashboard. The page refreshes its data automatically roughly every 15 minutes.

The composite score and pillars

The main card shows the Composite Market Risk Score out of 100, a state label (from Bullish down to Defensive) with a plain-English description, and a progress bar running from 0 (High Risk / Crisis) to 100 (Risk-On / Calm). To the right, each of the 4 pillars — Volatility & Options, Macro Rates & Credit, Market Trend, Systemic Stress — shows its own score and bar. Use Refresh in the top-right of the header to force a re-pull of the underlying data.

The Strategic Options Playbook

Below the composite card, the Strategic Options Playbook translates the current regime into a concrete stance: a title and description of the regime, a set of suggested options strategies as chips, plus Recommended Sizing and Risk Posture guidance.

Core Risk Pillars breakdown and Key Watch Items

Further down, the Core Risk Pillars Breakdown lists every individual indicator as its own card — layer, status tag (POSITIVE/CALM/NEUTRAL/CAUTION/ELEVATED/WEAK), current value, a narrative sentence and a 0-100 score bar with its as-of timestamp. The Key Watch Items & Warning Flags section below lists the active stress alerts and caution triggers currently firing across those indicators.

Read it, don't trade blind on it

Use the DEFCON badge and composite score as a quick temperature check before sizing new options positions, then drill into the pillar and indicator cards to see what's actually driving the number. The methodology button in the header documents how the score is built. As the in-app disclaimer notes, this is a rule-based, informational model — not financial advice — so always corroborate with your own research.
